I have been waiting for the opening of the magic movies since I first watched Twilight and read the books. I even ordered my tickets online a week before opening day so that I was sure to have tickets to see it. That says a lot since the price of tickets these days are outrageous. I usually wait to see a movie when it comes on pay per view but I could not wait for this movie.
The big problem was that I had built the movie up in my mind a lot better than the movie actually was. I am a big Twilight saga fan and have watched Twilight and New Moon several times and I will still buy it when it is out on DVD. The movie was not a complete flop; it had really great parts in it.
Because of what my mind had built up, the movie was a let down. I have read each Twilight book many times and I have a certain idea of how they should look on film. Of course I do not work in the movie industry but that is my personally opinion.
The movie Twilight was a big success and all though New Moon did not quite measure up, the success will be big. When the author Stephanie Meyers was writing the Twilight Saga she probably never thought that the books would become so popular. Ask anyone you see walking down the street if they have heard of the Twilight Saga and as long as they have not been living beneath a rock they will know just what you are talking about.
This type of magic movie really appeals to women on a large scale. They are enamored with such romance and therefore lust after this type of film. Men enjoy it as well but it definitely triggers a female hormone in all women. The movie is well made and much more technologically advance from the first movie Twilight.
